After months of using my iPhone , I must say I do love it. It is an amazing piece of technology. It’s fast never hangs up and you never have to worry about taking the battery out *cough* *cough* Black *cough* Berry, but Let’s get to it. I have reinstalled the OS four times, Once for an update and twice because of my own mistakes. I have jailbroken my iPhone which opens up alot of options. Let’s take a look at them.
You can have your own background, your own custom carrier logo, and download any app for free with Installous. You can also run multiple apps at the sametime using Backgrounder, and you can unrestrict apps like SlingPlayer on 3G . Which would mean you could watch your TV anywhere. Apps like Cydia and Icy allow you to customize your iPhone, create themes change anything you like on the entire iPhone . Let’s take a look at that…
As you can see it changes everything in the layout. Very nice blue I must say. There is also an easy drop down menu that you can activate by simply swiping your finger across the top of the screen.
You can also have pictures beside every contacts name. I sync them with FaceBook using MyBook +.
Now… Let’s take a look at somethings that you DON’T need to jailbreak for let’s start off with MMS. MMS isn’t suppose to be released until Sept. 25th , but of course I got it first.
You can send and recieve them easily. I use 30,000 or more texts a month with 3,000 or more minutes used along with 4-6 GB of data every month. I’m what they call a “power user”. I’m waiting for the day they cancel me and tell me I use my phone too much.
Let’s look at the most pointless and useless app on the iPhone. The Compass.
The only good thing about the compass is if you are in New York you could see which way you are walking down the street which means you wouldn’t have to know how to read anymore, I guess we don’t need signs… The maps app GPS is very accurate and reliable almost anywhere. As you can see it tells you EXACTLY where you are.
Ok, So we’ve looked at all this boring stuff . Where’s something good you ask? Well, the video recording , It is amazing how good the camera on the iPhone looks. Just for a dinky 3 MP camera it does have me stunned. The fact that you can MMS the video email it or of course send it straight to YouTube is awesome. Here is an example video , lots of movement…
We have three iPhone’s and for $314 a month it’s worth every penny. Service is great and i get unbelieveable speed, 2.4 Down . That’s twice as fast as the internet I’m using to type this. AT&T is on their game, so is Apple. I recommend for everyone to get an iPhone , Give it time and you will like it. I love my iPhone due to the fact that I can download an app for anything. Now what other phone can do that?
